Vintage Genuine WWI or Early WWII Navy and Marine Corps USMC Purple Heart Award medal in Purple Case.
Great early medal. Made of sterling silver.
Medal has the split brooch pin assembly. I believe this is called a Type 1 medal as they were the first produced. Reverse has "FOR MILITARY MERIT".
This is an early medal case back when they came in the Purple Cases. Outside of the case is in nice shape. Inside of case has some imperfectons where the medal was pinned to the purple pad inside which is common.
